Quote in-store while the customer is still in the showroom
Drop the customer plan in, mark the rooms, hand them a printed quote before they leave. No measure-up appointment needed for the first number.
Most carpet quotes lose the customer between the showroom visit and the measure-up. AreaSum closes that gap. Your sales team can produce a credible first quote from the plan the customer brought in, then refine on site once the job is sold.
Trade terms and calculators to have open alongside
The three things a carpet retailer reaches for most often while quoting from a plan — the trade term behind broadloom pricing, and the two calculators that turn per-room area into linear-metre orders.
Built for the way you quote
Anyone on the floor can use it
No CAD training. Upload, set scale, draw rooms in under ten minutes. New sales staff are quoting on day one.
Reports that read clean to the customer
Quote-ready PDF with each room outlined on the plan, total area, and material totals on the cover. Send it as the quote or paste the numbers into your existing template.
Multi-page plans for whole houses
Each floor sits on its own page in the project. Totals roll up so a two-storey house is one quote, not two.

What carpet retailers ask first
Can my sales team quote from the PDFs customers bring in?
Yes. Customers commonly arrive with floor plans from builders, real-estate listings or council documents. AreaSum reads any PDF plan, you set the scale from a known dimension on the page, and the quote is ready in minutes.
Does the report account for broadloom drops or roll widths?
AreaSum reports the raw m2 and the perimeter. Roll-width drop calculations stay where you already do them, so you can layer a 3.66m or 4m broadloom calc on top of the measured area without re-doing the takeoff.
What does the exported quote look like?
The export is a multi-page PDF: a cover sheet with the per-material totals (carpet m², linear metres for skirting, vinyl/tile if mixed) and a per-floor sheet that shows the original floor plan with each room outlined, labelled and dimensioned over the top. It is the document you send the customer or paste straight into your own quote template. Custom branded exports (your logo and brand colour on the PDF) are on the Enterprise roadmap rather than every paid plan today — talk to us if that is a requirement.
