What this calculator does not include
Supply + install per m² covers the bulk of a flooring quote but rarely all of it. Common line items to quote separately: underlay, sheet-vinyl coving, floor prep (self-levelling, ply, screed), skirting supply and install, old floor covering removal and disposal, and door adjustment for the new floor height.

- How much does vinyl plank flooring cost in Australia?
- Vinyl plank is typically $35–95/m² to supply and $20–40/m² to install — roughly $55–135/m² all-in. Hybrid and SPC planks sit at the upper end; loose-lay and glue-down labour varies with subfloor prep.
- Does this flooring cost calculator include installation?
- Yes — it returns supply total, install total and a grand total separately, so you can see the labour split. It does not include underlay, floor preparation, skirting, or removal and disposal of the old floor; quote those as separate line items.
- How do I estimate flooring cost for a whole house?
- Measure each room's area in square metres, add them up, then multiply the total by your installed rate ($/m² supply + $/m² install). AreaSum measures per-room area straight off a PDF plan and rolls the totals up, which you can drop into this calculator for a quote-ready number.
