For vinyl installers

Quote vinyl plank jobs without the back-of-envelope math

Upload the plan, mark the rooms, get an exact m2 figure for each one. Wastage applied, transitions counted, ready to price.

Vinyl plank quoting goes sideways when wastage is guessed and trims are an afterthought. AreaSum gives you the area, the perimeter and the totals from one plan, so the quote you send the customer matches the box count you order on Monday.

Why vinyl installers use it

Built for the way you quote

Per-room area, snap accurate

Click two points to set the scale, then trace each room. Snap-to-point keeps the polygon square so the m2 figure matches the floor, not your guess.

Linear metres for trims and transitions

Every room reports its perimeter in linear metres alongside the area, so quad, scotia and doorway transitions are in the quote from the first version.

Wastage applied per material

Set the wastage percentage once for vinyl plank and once for vinyl sheet. Totals come out grouped by material with wastage already included.

Questions, answered

What vinyl installers ask first

Does AreaSum handle vinyl plank and vinyl sheet on the same job?

Yes. Assign each room a flooring type and the report groups totals by material, so plank and sheet come out as separate line items in the same export.

What wastage percentage does it apply?

You set it. The default is 10 percent and you can change it per material or per project. The exported report shows both the raw area and the area with wastage applied.

Can I count linear metres for trims separately?

Each room shows its perimeter in linear metres in the report. For trims that only run on some walls, drop those edges into the notes field on the room and the perimeter calculation still holds.
