Steps

Start a project from the plan PDF and pick the pages.
Set the scale on the longest known dimension on the page.
Trace each room with Rectangle or Draw Room, then type the real wall lengths.
Assign flooring types for a mixed job: carpet, a boxed product and a hard floor.
Set the roll width and the direction on carpet rooms.
Read Totals: wastage, box size, Boxes and Ordered — the quantity you buy.
