Pick the origin wall and flip the pile

Pick the wall each room lays off to find the shortest roll, and set which way the pile runs.

Steps

  1. Open Layout. Click a carpet room: the orange line marks the origin wall the carpet is laid off.
  2. Click a different wall of the room to lay off that wall instead. Seams and offcuts move to suit.
  3. Click the room's arrow to flip the pile direction. This does not change the cuts or the total; offcuts placed against the pile get a warning.
  4. Watch the header total. Each wall you pick re-lays the room and the lineal metres move, so try the walls and keep the shortest.
