Assign a flooring type

Give each room its flooring type; the plan colours by type.

Steps

Select a room. In the room panel, pick its flooring type: Vinyl Planks, Vinyl Sheet, Carpet, Hybrid, Timber, Carpet Tiles or Tile.
The room recolours on the plan, so colour tells you the type at a glance.
Click another room on the plan and set its type the same way. Mixed jobs are normal.
Totals groups the rooms by type: lineal metres for Carpet and Vinyl Sheet, m² for everything else.
