Roll width, fit allowance and direction

Set the roll width and fit allowance, then choose which way each room runs.

On Pro, the lay direction is set by the origin wall in Layout mode.

Steps

  1. Select a carpet or vinyl sheet room and set its roll width in the room panel.
  2. In Totals, open the type and set the fit allowance for trim and tape.
  3. Back in the room panel, "laying at" shows the usable width: roll width minus the fit allowance.
  4. Choose Lengthways or Widthways and compare the lineal metres.
  5. For hard-floor rooms (not Tile), click a wall on the plan to lay off it. Click the arrowhead to flip which way it runs.
  6. Click Reset beside Lay direction to go back to the longest wall.
