Steps

Click Markup in the action bar and choose Ruler.
Click two points. The length reads live, then stays on the plan and on the PDF. Switch m / mm on the line if needed.
For lineal metres around walls, choose Markup → Perimeter and click each corner. Hold Shift to lock walls to 15° steps.
Finish with Enter, Esc or a double-click, or click the first point to close the loop.
Pick a name for the run from the list (Scotia LM, Skirting LM, Coving LM, Welding LM…) or type your own.
The legend shows lineal metres per name; more runs with the same name add to it.
